Ratio Pyrometer PYROSPOT DSRF 44N

September 2011

New Ratio Pyrometer PYROSPOT DSRF 44N with excellent Cost-Effectiveness

PYROSPOT DSRF 44N is a digital pyrometer with fiber optic cable, which is largely independent of emissivity and also attaches reliably in harsh environments. It has been developed from DIAS Infrared GmbH, a company from Dresden. Thanks to it’s special optic, the pyrometer is very robust and is able to measure the exact temperature in even small measurement fields in a range from 700 °C to 1,800 °C

The ratio pyrometers were developed for industrial use, is particularly robust and less sensitive to contamination of the optics than conventional pyrometers. In addition, the PYROSPOT DSRF 44N can operate in environments up to 250 °C. Unlike conventional pyrometers that measure the light intensity of a target, the pyrometer measures the intensities of two different wavelengths and determine their difference. The advantage of this method is that the emissivity at the temperature measurement does not matter except if the object is not strongly wavelength-dependent.

Thanks to the short response time of just 5 ms moved or even temporarily hidden objects can be captured as well. The built-in laser targeting lightens the alignment of the pyrometer, since the device can also perform measurements with activated laser. Thanks to the temperature linear output signal 0/4 to 20 mA and the electrically isolated RS485 interface, the pyrometer can also be easily integrated into existing systems. All parameters can be set via the interface user-friendly and individually with the extensive parameterization and evaluation software PYROSOFT spot.

PYROSPOT DP 10N

Mai 2011

Industrial temperature measurements from 50 °C

For accurate non-contact temperature measurements in research and industry DIAS Infrared GmbH has developed the fast digital pyrometer Series 10. With the PYROSPOT DP 10N, the series was extended by a pyrometer, which can detect due to the short-wave measurement in the near infrared range from 2.0 to 2.8 microns, and the alternating light principle temperatures from 50 °C (up to 1,200 °C).

The PYROSPOT DP 10N is ideal especially for non-contact temperature measurements on metal, ceramic and graphite surfaces. The measurement with short wavelength reduces these effective emissivity-related errors, while the used alternating light principle allows a high reproducibility of the measurements. To align the pyrometer exactly on the measurement object, the measuring instruments are equipped with either LED or laser aiming light or sight-through

The temperature linear 0/4...20 mA standard output signal of the PYROSPOT DP 10N can be integrated quickly and easily into existing instrumentation and control systems. The units are equipped with an electrically isolated RS485 interface, which enables data transmission via field buses. The emissivity is can be set directly on the device by pressing buttons and display. All parameters can be ideally adapted to the applications with the extensive parameterization and evaluation PYROSOFT spot.

In addition to the high performance pyrometers Series 10 DIAS Infrared develops and manufactures other equipment for non-contact temperature measurement for industrial applications. The company is also a leading supplier of thermal imaging cameras to measure temperature distributions, line cameras, black spots and infrared sensors. The software for displaying and processing the measured data is also developed by DIAS. A large part of the orders are also individual, application-specific system solutions.

PYROSPOT Series 10 with video functionality

April 2011

Color video module for pyrometers PYROSPOT Series 10

With the optional color video module the alignment of the pyrometers PYROSPOT Series 10 to the target can be monitored visually and the entire process can be monitored and documented. In a video window, the target circle mark is displayed to the real spot size. If the target is in a closed chamber and not visible from the outside, such as an oven or the burner of a coal power plant, the pyrometer can be aligned via video quickly and reliably to the desired measurement point.

The video signal with a resolution of up to 628 x 586 pixels and a frequency of 50 Hz to 60 Hz is displayed on a monitor or a PC. There it can be recorded and archived as needed. The video module of the DIAS pyrometer is ideal for observation and monitoring of ongoing processes. Heat-related changes in measurement objects can be recognized in this way as well, such as the interference of the flame in a furnace or burner. In addition to the goal circle mark in the video window, the measurement temperature, showing the degree of emission and the time and/or date. In addition the device number of the pyrometer or a freely definable text with a maximum of 16 characters can be displayed on the video recording picure.

The digital pyrometer PYROSPOT Series 10 are designed for use in industry and research. The new models with built-in color video module are suitable for non-contact temperature measurements in the range between 150 °C and 3000 °C on various surfaces such as metals, graphite or ceramic. Typical applications for the PYROSPOT Series 10 are measurements in the steel industry, power plants, furnaces, hardening, welding and soldering and in the ceramic, metal and glass production.

In hard industrial applications, the PYROSPOT Series 10 are characterized by a robust design with IP 65 protection, high accuracy, short response times from 2 ms and excellent reliability. Due to built-in display and integrated keyboard and software supplied PYROSOFT Spot the operation is simple and user friendly. An integrated RS485 interface allows easy system integration.
